Why We Built This Site
Kansas gives the public broad access to many court and government records, but Jackson County records do not all sit in one office. The Clerk of the District Court handles district court case files in Holton. The Jackson County Clerk handles elections and county administrative functions. The Register of Deeds handles recorded land and lien documents. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office manages jail roster and active warrant information. KDHE issues certified marriage and divorce certificates.
The goal is to make those boundaries clear. A divorce decree is not requested the same way as a certified divorce certificate. A Holton traffic ticket may not be in the same system as a Jackson County District Court case. A jail roster charge is not a conviction. Each record type needs the right source.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It is not connected to Jackson County, the State of Kansas, the Kansas Judicial Branch, Jackson County District Court, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, KDHE, or any municipal court. There are real limits to what a private reference site can do:
- We cannot file pleadings, motions, marriage license materials, probate forms, or records requests for anyone
- We cannot issue certified court copies, certified marriage certificates, certified divorce certificates, or official sheriff records
- We cannot give legal advice or say how Kansas law applies to a specific case
- We cannot guarantee that every official fee, address, phone number, hour, or portal status is current at the moment a visitor uses it
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal.
